The Basset Artesien Normand is an athletic basset scent hound, not overly heavy, elegant, built for sport and for the pleasure of the eye. The height is between 30 and 36 cm for a weight of roughly 17kg. The coat is short and tricolored or bicolored. The head, determining for the breed, shoulf be a moderate width with a pronouced occipital bump, with long, fine, well-turned ears and a sightly aquiline muzzle. Calm, obediant and good natured, he's a marvelous compagnon, in the home as well in the field. He is very patient with children.
